Why this space exists

Okay, real talk.

Water and climate work is full of brilliant people doing important things. But somewhere between the data and the decision-makers, the story gets lost.

Reports get filed. Policies get drafted. Presentations get made. And the human beings at the center of it all? Left out of the narrative.

For communicators in this space, that gap hits differently. You are often the only one in the room who sees it, the only one asking "but how do we actually get people to care?" And for a long time, there wasn't really a space built for you.

So we built the café we wished existed.

The Water Storytellers Collective started with one observation: communicators in the water sector are out here doing incredible work but in isolation. No shared space. No community of practice. No place to swap strategies, celebrate wins, or process the very specific exhaustion of translating climate data into something a general audience will actually read.

Researchers have conferences. Engineers have associations. Communicators had… LinkedIn.

That needed to change.
